Telephone Consulting Information for Individuals

PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS: The author/editor of this web site, Dr. Anne Vitale ,is available for paid telephone consultations. Due to California State restrictions against doing psychotherapy via electronic communication, what Dr Vitale will be providing will be restricted to educational information only.

IMPORTANT-- if you are feeling overwhelmed by your gender issues, and feel you need psychotherapy, contact Dr. Vitale at anne@vitale.com or call her at her office phone line 415-456-4452 and she will either make an appointment to see you in her office in San Rafael, California or, if the distance from you to her office is prohibitive, email her the general area you live in and she will do the best she can to try to find a gender specialist in your area.

DISCLAIMER: Again..what Dr. Vitale will be passing on to you is limited to educational information only and it is not meant to be misconstrued or mistaken for psychotherapy. For legal purposes, it is important that you understand that a telephone only consultation does not establish a therapist-client relationship with Dr. Vitale. Although she will be happy to help individuals work through specific techinical issues involved in their gender role transition, unless there has been face to face contact established, she is unable to provide psychotherapy, written recommendations for hormones or written recommendations for gender reassignment surgery.

CONFIDENTIALITY: Be assured, should you choose to contact Dr. Vitale for any reason, you will be granted the same strict level of professional confidentiality the law requires of her in her private practice.

CHARGES: Minimum charge is $75 for an hour consultation. Additional 30 minute sessions can be ordered to follow immediately or at a prearranged time in the future. All consults are to be pre-paid by credit card or by check and all calls are to originate from the individual requesting the consult.

TERMS OF EXCHANGE: All payment shall be in US Dollars and consultation shall be conducted in English. Once payment is received, Dr. Vitale will contact the interested party by email in order to set up a mutually agreed upon phone meeting time. Please be mindful that Dr. Vitale lives on the West Coast of the United States and is on Pacific Standard Time in the winter (Nov -March) and Pacific Daylight Savings Time, the rest of the year.

Cancellation Policy:

• Consultation fees are not refundable.

• If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, you must reschedule by email or by calling Dr. Vitale's 24 hour answering service at (415) 456-4452 at least 24 hours in advance or you will be charged in full for the time scheduled.

• If you need to reschedule after a consultation time has been confirmed, you may do so only once. If you are unable to meet the adjusted appointment time, you will be charged for the time scheduled.

Pay by check option: If you feel more comfortable paying by check, contact Dr. Vitale directly by email at anne@avitale.com and you will be given an address to send the check to.
